The Illua Igloo Village - Stay in an Igloo

Available from 20th of December - 20th of March - Groups of 3 to 10 people.
Out on an inlet of the Skabram Lake, just a few kilometres from the village of Jokkmokk, the starlight, the moon and hopefully the Northern Light all cast a very special light over the Igloo Village and its dome shaped igloos. The beauty of the natural surroundings is the most spectacular part of what the Igloo Village offers you. Welcome to a night in an igloo!
All trips - An Igloo meal awaits you in the Igloo Village. We find our ingredients in the natural forest around us - the meat, berries and a local cheese, all served with a hot blackcurrant drink (non alcoholic). The Igloo dinner is served beside the fire in the tipi tent. A white handmade and dome shaped snow igloo will soon be your home for the night. A hot blackcurrant drink in a wooden cup and a wood heated sauna will warm you up in the cold morning. At the end of the igloo tour, we eat breakfast in the “igloo cabin”.
Option 1 - The Igloo Village by Skis - Price: Swedish Kr 2,550 per person
Travelling with skis. Burning camp fires meet us on our arrival at the forest. Skis on and away we go. This type of travel is a warming and natural way of getting to the igloo village, as you generate your own body heat by skiing. A short tour on wooden skis is just the beginning of an exciting evening and night in the beauty of the snow.
Option 2 - The Igloo Village by Dog Sled - Price: Swedish Kr 3,300 per person
Travel by dog sled. Take a dog sled tour to the igloo-village. In almost total silence, you will travel over marshes, lakes and ancient forests. Bonding with the huskies deepens this one hour dog sled experience.
Option 3 - The Igloo Village by Snowmobile - Price: Swedish Kr 2,850 per person
Travel by snowmobile to the village (on a sled) and experience the thrill of driven over snow and ice by Swedens most popular winter transport.
Tours start at 18.00 in the evening and end approximately 10-10.30 the following morning.
Prices include: Local transfers from Jokkmokk and return by car/mini- van approximately 2-4 km. (The actual travel time depends on which transfer method is chosen for the last part of the trip, ski/dog sled/snowmobile), two course dinner next to the fire in a tipi tent, dinner with dessert around the fire, use of warm bivouac shoes and a jacket, overnight stay inside a ‘hand built’ igloo (reindeer skin, warm sleeping bag), wood fired sauna, breakfast and a warm drink inside the igloo cabin.
Prices exclude: Alcoholic beverages. Flights and travel to Jokkmokk.
Skiing - Difficulty level: Medium. You will need a good general level of physical fitness. The ski tour is not difficult and most people can undertake it. However, as the day is generally cold, this experience is more enjoyable if you have a good level of physical fitness.
N.B. All personal equipment has to be carried by participants.
