Jokkmokk Winter Market at The Solberget Reindeer Retreat
Dates for the 2011 market are the 1st of February - 5th of February. Groups of 2 to 12 people.
The Sami Winter market in Jokkmokk, better known as the Jokkmokk Winter Market, is a 400 year old tradition and is a special annual event here in Lapland. In and around the market you will experience the true Sami culture, their handicraft and their music.
Every year we spend the first two days (Thursday and Friday) at the market as there are fewer crowds than at the weekend and it is possible to have a relaxed look around. In the evening we attend a concert where you can watch the local musicians perfrom. We invite our guests to spend some time at the market and experience the unique, magical atmosphere.
One highlight of your stay at the retreat will be the 1 hour reindeer sleigh ride, gliding through the snow bound landscape of Swedish Lapland which is a truly unique experience. We have skis available for you to borrow so you can discover the immediate area of the retreat. We look foward to welcoming you to enjoy some true downtime and some exciting days full of the wonderful winter atmosphere.
